DIES AT HIS HOME

Well-Known Resident  and Former Fairfield Mayor
Had a Heart Condition

Frank Heidinger, 86, former Fairfield mayor, died from a heart condition at his home on South First street at 12:10 noon Thursday (today).

Mr. Heidinger had been in declining health for some time and his condition became worse about four o'clock this morning.

Funeral Sunday

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday from Nale's Funeral Home.

Mr. Heidinger was a native of Jasper township.  He engaged in business here while a young man and was first a builder and contractor, prior to opening the first car agency in Wayne and Edwards counties.  He was in business here 25 years before retiring.

Mr. Heidinger served two terms as Fairfield mayor, from 1921-1923 and 1927-1929.

He was active in the affairs of the Fairfield First Methodist church, serving for many years on its board of trustees.  He joined the church when it was located in the old building and was chairman of the building committee at the time the fine new church building was constructed.

Born in 1870

Mr. Heidinger was born January 16th, 1870, the son of Jacob and Matilda Heidinger.  He grew up and attended Jasper township schools.

On July 18th, 1900, he was married to Mary Creighton, with no children being born to this union.  They quietly celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary only last month.

Surviving are his widow; three brothers, G. Norman Heidinger and Charles H. Heidinger, both of Jasper township; and Tom W. Heidinger , of Carbondale; and one sister, Eula, now Mrs. Larkin McLin, of Harrisburg.
