OBITUARY
Welby (Bob) Williams SIMMONS
Former Geff Boy Dies at Alton

 Welby (Bob) Simmons, 67, former Geff boy, died at 5 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 3, 1990 at the Rosewood Care Center in Alton.
 
He had been in poor health.  Mr. Simmons lived at Godfrey.

Mr. Simmons was a senior project engineer for the Jefferson Smurfit Corp. in Alton for the past 12 years.  He retired in 1989. 

Rites Wednesday

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday from the First United Methodist church in Godfrey, with Rev.   John A. Weller officiating.   Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Cisne Cemetery.   Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Elias-Smith Funeral Home in Godfrey.

Mr. Simmons was born Feb. 5, 1922, at Geff, the son of Preston and Maude Williams Simmons.

On Apr. 15, 1944, he was married to Leona G. (Gerry) Miller.  She passed away Dec. 1, 1989.
He was a member of the Godfrey First United Methodist Church and the Jerseyville Moose Lodge.  He was a World War II veteran. 

The Survivors

Surviving are two sons, two brothers, two sisters, and two grandchildren.
