FUNERAL HERE

Former Fairfield Resident Succumbs at Jacksonville
Saturday of Heart Attack

George M. Creighton, 59, former Fairfield resident, died of a heart attack at a Jacksonville hospital at 11:00 o'clock Saturday morning. He was a brother of the late Charles W. Creighton, former Fairfield lawyer.  Mr. Creighton had not been well for a number of years since he was hurt in a car wreck but his death came suddenly. He was ill early Saturday morning and entered the hospital only a short time before his death.

Funeral Monday (Today)

Funeral services were held from the Dixon-Crippen Chapel Monday afternoon (today), with Rev. Hilton Longberry officiating. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery. Masonic rites were observed.

George M., son of Mr. and Mrs. T. F. Creighton, was born near Fairfield, in the Ebenezer vicinity, on July 29th, 1898. Mr. Creighton grew to manhood in Fairfield and vicinity. He was first married to Lucille Baldwin and two sons were born to this union. His wife and one son preceded him in death. Mr. Creighton was later married again.

He was a member of the Methodist church, having been converted at the Ebenezer church near here. Mr. Creighton was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Jacksonville. Was on Police Force He served as a member of the police force at Jacksonville for many years.

Surviving are his widow and a son, George Milton Creighton of Chicago.
