Retired Seamstress
Dies At Hospital
In McLeansboro

Mrs. Mary Ellen Morris, 77, of McLeansboro, died at 8:25 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 1994, at Harnilton emorial Hospital in McLeansboro. She was a retired seamstress for Elder Manufacturing.

Funeral rites were held Sunday from the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro, with Rev. John Deen officiating. Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery at McLeansboro. A visitation was held at Harre's Funeral Home Saturday evening.

She was born in White County Oct. 22, 1917, the daughter of Leroy and Mary Etienne Lewis. On Oct. 1, 1938, she was married to Jasper Lawson Morris. He passed away Dec. 17, 1988. Her parents also preceded her in death. Mrs. Morris was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in McLeansboro.

Surviving are two sons, Jasper L. Morris, of McLeansboro; and Gary D. Morris, of Enfield; three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Vonna) Deen. of McLeansboro; Kay Johnson, of Alameda, Calif.; and Mrs. Greg (Judi) Wingler, of Chatham; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joe Lewis, of McLeansboro; Ed Lewis, of Eldorado and Bernard Lewis, of Longmont, Colo.; and three sisters, Cora Nalley, and Loretta Cox of McLeansboro; and Bertha Carter, of_Phoenix, Ariz
