Mrs. Katie M. Fry Dies;
Was Native Of Johnsonville.

Mrs. Katie M. Fry, 95, of Rt. 2, Clay City, died at 6:45 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, 1995, at the Flora Pavilion nursing home. Mrs. Fry was a homemaker and native of Johnsonville.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday from the Summers-Kistler Funeral Home at Clay City, with interment in Clay City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 o'clock Tuesday evening (tonight) at Summers-Kistler in Clay City.

Mrs. Fry had suffered a massive stroke four weeks ago. She had been at the nursing home since last spring.

She was born at Johnsonville Aug. 19, 1899, the daughter of Charlie and Delpha Dodd Howe. On May 9, 1916, in Wayne County, she was married to Charlie H. Fry. He passed away Jan.4,1979. Also preceding her in death were her parents, two sons, two daughters, three grandchildren; one brother and four sisters.

She was a member of the Clay City Christian Church. Mrs. Fry was a Gold Star Mother and Grandmother, losing a son in World War II and a grandson in Korea.

Surviving are three sons, Herschel T. Fry, of Flora; Andrew Dale Fry of Clay City; and James (Bill) Fry, of Clay City; a daughter-in-law, Gertrude Fry, of Sorento, 31 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren
