Mrs. Naomi Peddicord, 89,
Of Wayne City, Succumbs

A former rural school teacher, Mrs. Naomi Peddicord, 89 of Wayne City,  the wife of Amos Peddicord, died at 9:45 a.m. Friday, June 27, 1986, at rossroads Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon, following a heart attack earlier at her home.

Mrs. Peddicord taught school various times at Weaver, Pleasant Grove, Pleasant Valley and Anderson Schools in 1918, 1943-47.

Rites Held Sunday

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Richardson's Funeral Home, Wayne City, with Rev. Jack Martin officiating.  Interment followed in Bailey Cemetery north of Wayne City.

Born in Berry township, Wayne County, Aug. 1896, she was the daughter of Frank and Lillie Church eaver.

She married Amos Peddicord at Johnsonville Feb. 29, 1916.

Mrs. Peddicord was active in the Bailey Methodist Church until overcome by ill health.  She served as secretary-treasurer of the congregation; was a charter member of the Ladies Aid Society; a member of the Women¹s Society of Christian Service and served for many years as a Sunday School teacher.

The Survivors

She is survived by her husband, Amos Peddicord, of Wayne City; one son,Reyburn Peddicord of Wayne City; two daughters, Ferne Parsons, of Tempe ,Ariz.; and Mrs. James (Faith) Webber, of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; one foster son, Harold Weaver, Jr., of Fayetteville, N.C.; one brother, Owen Weaver, of Johnsonville; a sister, Mrs. Claudine Legg, of  Way-Fair Restorium in Fairfield; and nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
