Ted E. Bond

Funeral services for Ted E. Bond of Route 4 Liberty Road will be held a11:30 p.m Saturday at Hughey Funeral Home, with the Rev. Buss Hart and the Rev. Roy Beal officiating.  Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m.

Mr. Bond, 72, died Wednesday morning at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Belleville. He was a trucker who specialized in hauling race horses.

Mr. Bond was born Nov. 19, 1905, in Mt. Vernon, the son of James Allen and Artie (Holloway) Bond.

He was first married to the former Elva Esther Nesler on May 29, 1925, in Fairtield. She preceded him in death in 1946. He later married the former NelliePearce

Mr. Bond was a member of theBaptist faith.

Mr. Bond is survived by two sons. Paul and Franklin D., both of Belleville; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Pat) Easley and Mrs. Herman (Betty) Sanders, both of Mt. Vernon; 16 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
