Mrs. Reba White, 94, Dieds
Was Wayne County Native

Mrs. Reba C. White, 94, of Mt. Vernon, died at 12:50 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 1997, at the Jeffersonian Care Center in that city.  She was a Wayne County native.  Mrs. White was employed at a Mt. Vernon shoe factory for several years as a cementer.

Graveside Rites

Graveside funeral rites are set for 1 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 1, with Rev. Bill Parrish officiating.  Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemeterynear Orchardville.  Visitation will be from 5 to 8  Friday evening at the Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.

She was born Aug. 9, 1902, in Wayne County, the daughter of Elisha and Celia Burgess Jones.

She was first married to Herman Hawkins on Oct. 2, 1918, in Wayne County.  He passed away July 21, 1974 and later, on June 13, 1980, in Sims, was married to Joe B. White.  He died Oct. 19, 1991.  Also preceding her in death were her parents, one brother and one sister.  Mrs. White was a member of the Mt. Pleasant General Baptist Church.

The Survivors

Surviving are two sisters, Audrey Brown, of Olewein, Iowa; and Lora Hawkins, of Johnsonville; several stepchildren and stepgrand and step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
