Mrs. Emmer H. Trousdale wife of Wm. A. Trousdale, deceased, was born near Fairfield, May 7th, 1849; departed this life at her home in Fairfield, Sunday evening, November 18th. 1923, at the ripe age of 74 years, 6 months and 11 days.

She was united in marriage to Wm. A. Trousdle in 1866 and to this union were born 10 children, 6 of whom died either in infancy or early life.  Four lived to maturity of life and three of these preceded the mother, leaving an only daughter, Miss Nellie Trousdale with whom she lived and her life was perfectly devoted. She leaves three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who will mourn. She also leaves three sisters, Mrs. S. A. Trousdale, of Marion, Ill.; Mrs. C. C. Mann, of near Fairfield and Mrs. Alice Cannon of Ft. Worth, Texas.

At the age of 15 she was converted and united with the Union C. P, church, where her life and labors were given to the service of the Master. She was one of those earnest, devoted disciples who did with her might what her hands found to do.  For many years she taught in Sunday School and did active work in the prayer and revival work of the church and was very thoroughly versed in the Word of God. Not until failing health made it imperative did she slacken her activities in the work of the church.

Her life in the home and community was that of complete devotion to others. Besides the rearing of her own family she took her three grandchildren when quite small and raised them to maturity. Yet she was hever too busy with the cares of home life to go to friend or stranger when she could help in times of sickness or death.

The funeral was conducted Tuesday morning at ten o'clock at the Union C. P. curch, southeast of Merriam, conducted by Rev. J. T. Coleman. The remains were laid to rest in the Union cemetery.
