OBITUARY

Note:  Nettie had relatives in Wayne Co., IL

Chenoa – Funeral services for Mrs. Nettie M. Pierce, who died at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Mennonite hospital, Bloomington, will be held at 1 p..m. Thursday at the Easton-Pils Funeral home in Chenoa, The Rev. Milo Nixon, pastor of the Baptist church, will officiate. Burial will be in Union cemetery, Lincoln.

She was born Jan. 8, 1888 at Greensburg, Kan., daughter of Robert M. and Mary C. Martin. When she was three the family moved to Mason City and then to a farm near Fancy Prairie. She attended Illinois State Normal university and taught school for two years near Elkhart.

She married James H. Pierce June 10, 1908. They lived in Cornland and moved to Chenoa in 1935. She was a member of the Christian church at Cornland.

Surviving are her husband, her mother, Mrs. Mary C. Martin, Middletown; three children, Robert G., El Paso; Mrs. Alice Sullins, Lockport; Sgt. James J., army, India; two brothers, Orville E. Martin, Mt. Pulaski; Russell Martin, Decatur; three grandchildren. Her father and sister preceded her in death.
