Dies at Home Here on Last Wednesday
Funeral Services Are Held on  Saturday Afternoon at
St. Paul’s Church

Mrs. Jennie Wahls, who had been in failing health for a long period of time, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 13, at her home, southeast of Chenoa.

Jennie Rhoda, daughter of Mr. And Mrs. John Rhoda, was born on Jan. 21, 1864, at Bloomington. She was married to Chris Wahls in 1882 in Chenoa. Her husband preceded her in death a number of years ago.

Surviving are one daughter, Miss Elsie, at home; three brothers, Henry Rhoda, of Wilmer, Minn., and Charles and Frank Rhoda, of Chenoa, and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Kemp, of Bloomington, besides a large number of nieces and nephews.

Two sons, three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Mrs. Wahls was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran church of Yates township, where she attended as long as here health permitted.

Funeral services, which were largely attended, were held on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock art the St. Paul’s Lutheran church, with the pastor, the Rev. Kenneth F. Frankenstein, officiating. The church choir sang two hymns, with Mrs. Clarence Wollenzein serving as organist.

Messrs. Edwin Krueger and Merlin Kemp, of Bloomington, and Orville, Alvin, Lester and Lawrence Rhoda, of Chenoa, all nephews, served as pallbearers. Interment was made in the Chenoa cemetery.
