MRS. FRANK E. ROBERTS
DIES AT HOSPITAL

Had Resided Here Since 1921
Was 87
Husband Was Highway Superintendent

Mrs. Frank E. Roberts, 87, 308 South East 6th Street, died at 4:15 a.m. Friday at Memorial Hospital after a two weeks hospitalization.

Her death was due to cancer and complications of her advanced years.

Mrs. Roberts had lived in Fairfield since 1921, coming here from Mt. Erie.  Her husband was county highway superintendent for 25 years.

The Roberts family lived for many years near the Fairfield city park.  Mr. Roberts passed away June 16th, 1948.

Funeral services were conducted from Nale's Funeral Home Sunday afternoon, with Dr. Delbert Lacquement officiating.  Interrment was in Maple Hill cemetery.

Born At Mt. Erie

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Haley Phelps, Sarah Phelps Roberts was born in Mt. Erie December 25th, 1875.

She was married to Frank E. Roberts March 4th, 1900, with five children born to this union.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Roberts, who died March 23rd, 1959.

Mrs. Roberts was a lifelong member of the Methodist church and had transferred her membership to First Methodist Church here many years ago.

The Survivors

Surviving are three sons, Frank Jr. (Ned), Milwaukee, Wis., Charles, St. Charles Mo., and Creighton, a research engineering professor at the University of Illinois in Urbana, a daughter, Esther, now Mrs. C. H. Osha, of Fort Wayne, Ind., six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
