Mrs. Eva Creighton Wines, 85, of 812 S. 2nd St., died at 4:30 p.m. Friday, at St. John's Hospital, where she had been a patient since January.

Mrs. Wines was born in Fairfield, the daughter of Judge and Mrs. James A. Creighton.  A resident of Springfield most of life, Mrs. Wines was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Springfield University Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution.  Her husband, William St. John a well known Springfield lawyer died in 1941.

Surviving are a son of [sic] William C. Wines of Chicago, a daughter, Mrs. Edna Vetter of Wilmette and a sister, Mrs. Ada Paige of Springfield.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Richard Paul Graebel officiating.  Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Remains are at the Smith Funeral Chapel.
