Widow Of Former Fairfield Resident
Dies At Olney

Mrs. Margaret A. (Maggie) Farris, 60, of Olney, died at 10:07 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 1992, at her home in that city.

She was the widow of John Hayward Farris, a former Fairfield boy.  He died Mar. 20, 1991.

Funeral services were conducted Monday morning (today) from the Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney, with Minister Joe Eggebrecht officiating.  Burial was in Haven Hill cemetery.

Born in 1931

Mrs. Farris was born Aug. 16, 1931, in Robinson, the daughter of Clarence and Margaret Hall Adams.

She was married to Charles L. Rice and later, on Dec. 11, 1965, she was married to John Hayward Farris.

Mrs. Farris owned and operated the Mar-Jon Beauty Salon in Olney and the Lincoln Trail Beauty Academy in Robinson.

She was a member of the Elm Street Christian Church in Olney and served on the Cosmetology Board of education for the State of Illinois as an Olney area affiliate.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

The Survivors

Surviving are one son, A. Kevin Rice, of Atlanta, GA;  one step-son, John H. Farris, Jr., of Spring Town, Tex.;  one daughter, Mrs. David L. (Sue) Jeter of Woodstock, Ga.; and one step-daughter, Lavetta Griffith of Yucon, Okla.
