#1Mrs. Earl Adams
Dies in Anderson, Ind

A former Fairfield woman, Mrs. Mary Adams, the widow of Earl Adams, a Jasper township farmer, died at 11:30 p.m. Friday in a nursing home in Anderson, Ind.

Mrs. Adams had lived in Anderson about five years.  Her only son, Joe, resides in Anderson.  She was the last survivor of the Joe Creighton family.

Funeral Services

Mrs. Adams' body was returned to Fairfield and funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday (today) at Nales Funeral Home, with Rev. Aleck Dickson officiating.  Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Adams was born in Fairfield Nov. 29, 1886, the daughter of Joe and Ann Creighton.  She was married to Earl Adams, who died in 1961.

He was a well-known Jasper township farmer and she was a house wife.   She did work in Fairfield at Airtex during the war years.

She moved to Anderson to be near her son about five years ago.

Surviving are her son, Joe Goodwin, of Anderson; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two nieces, Mrs. Jim Gaither and Mrs. Fred O'Malley, both of Fairfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son, Carl.

Mary A. Adams

Mrs. Mary A. Adams, 88, 3107 Poplar St., died at 11:30 p.m. Friday at the Willows Nursing Home in Alexandria.  She had been ill for three months.

She was a native of Fairchild [sic], Ill., and had lived in Anderson for 12 years.  She was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ.

Surviving are one son, Joseph Goodwin and one daughter-in-law Mabel Goodwin, Anderson; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren,one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Brown and Butz Funeral Home and from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield, Ill.  Servces will be at 19:30 a.m. Monday with burial in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield.
