The tragedy occurred in Edwards County about five miles east of Mt. Erie.  The Yohe car was traveling east directly behind another car, when it met the Felix which was going west.  A heavy cloud of dust hindered the vision of the drivers and the two vehicles collided nearly head on.

                      Brought to Hospital Here

All of the victims were rushed to Memorial Hospital here.

Mr. Yohe, who was traveling alone, suffered fractures of the chest, a broken leg and a crushed back.  He lived only 45 minutes after being admitted to the hospital.

Mrs. Bryant was suffering from a badly fractured hip, a broken pelvic bone and a serious scalp injury.  Doctors believe she will recover.

Mr. Felix had a broken left wrist and lacerations about the face.  He was released from the hospital Tuesday.

Both cars were demolished.

Mr. Felix said he was traveling about 50 miles an hour when the accident happened and that the Yohe car suddenly appeared out of a cloud of dust,  too late for him to turn and avoid the collision. It is believed that the Yohe car was traveling about the same speed.

Coroner James Colbert has not yet set the date for an inquest, awaiting Mrs. Bryant's release from the hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Yohe were held at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Mt. Erie Methodist church by Rev. H.G. Coventry.  Burial was in the Yohe cemetery.

                          Life Sketch

Edgar R. Yohe was born in Mt. Erie on November 23rd, 1879, the son of  Mr. and Mrs. Luther Yohe.  He spent his entire life in that community.

He was united in marriage to Emma Roberts, also of Mt. Erie, and to that union two children were born, a daughter, Mrs. Edna Leisher, of Normal, and a son, Dr. Forrest Yohe, prominent physician and surgeon in Bellevue, Ohio.

Mr. Yohe was cashier and principle stockholder of the Mt. Erie State Bank and it was largely due to his skillful management that this bank was successfully guided through the financial crisis of the 1930's.

Mr. Yohe was one of the substantial, forward-looking residents of the Mt. Erie community, having served various positions of public trust throughout the years.

He was a member of the Modern Woodman Lodge.

Surviving, besides the widow and two children, is one brother, Heyward  Yohe, of Salem.  A sister, Mrs. Ollie Johnson, preceded her brother in death.
