Mrs. Inez Malone, 89, of Sims, died at 9:20 p.m. Sunday in Fairfield Memorial Hospital from complications resulting from her age.

The former Sims school teacher and housewife had been a patient of the hospital since Dec. 29.

She was the widow of Charles Malone, a Sims farmer, who died in 1953.  She resided in Sims after his death.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Dixon & J  Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. David Dean officiating.  Burial will be in Pin Oak Cemetery north of Sims.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Mrs. Malone was born on Oct. 5, 1881 in Marion county, the daughter of Brown and Mary Hayes Parkinson.  She married Charles Malone in Sims Feb. 12, 1902.

She was a charter member of the Sims General Baptist Church.

Mrs. Malone is survived by one son, Max, of Grayville; two daughters, Mrs.  Maurice (Grace) Smith, of Fairfield; and Mrs. Lucy Smith, of Sims; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and three sisters.
