Obit #1:

Lochie Smith County Resident, dies at 65 Funeral services are to be today at 2p.m. from the Missionary Baptist Church for Mrs. Lochie Smith, 65, a Wayne County resident who died at 1p.m. Saturday in Jefferson Memorial Hospital at Mt. Vernon.
 
Daughter of I. N. and Rosella (Estes) Jones, she was born in Jefferson County Sept. 25, 1889. She was married to Grover Smith and the couple had five children. 

Survivors besides her husband are two sons, Kirby Smith of Wayne City and Raymond Smith of Dalgren; three daughters, Hazel Lane of Dalgren, Elma Marshall of Fairfield and Bonnie Rayburn of Wayne City;

four brothers, Guy Jones and Herman Jones of Harvey, J.L. Jones of Herrick; one sister, Mrs. C.R. Austin of Harvey;26 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A son Clay Smith, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Smith had spent most of her life in Orel Township. She was a member of the Olive Branch Church. The body remained at Richardson's Chapel in Wayne City until the funeral hour.

OBITUARY Lochie Smith, the daughter of I.N. and Rozella (Estes) Jones, was born Sept. 25 1888 near Opdyke, Jefferson County Illinois.

She Departed this life July 10 1954 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Mt. Vernon IL. at the age of 65 years, nine months and 15 days.

She was united in marriage to Grover Smith Sept. 12, 1905. To this union six children were born. She is survived by her husband, three daughters and two sons. The children are Hazel Lane, Dahlgren; Alma Marshel, Fairfield; Bonnie Rayburn, Wayne City; Kirby Smith, Wayne City; Raymond Smith Dahlgren. Also Surviving are one sister and four brothers, Edna Austin, and Guy Jones, Harvey, J.L. Jones, Chicago; Carl Jones Herick, and Herman Jones Harvey. Also 25 grandchildren, one step grandchild, three great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. One grandson, Gene Lane is in the U.S. Air Force in Germany. Preceding her in death were her father and mother, one son Clay Smith, two brothers, Walter and Warner Jones, and one great grandchild, Randall Leroy Rayburn.

She professed faith in Christ at an early age and joined Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member. She always liked to attend church but due to failing health in the last years of her life she was not able to do so. She enjoyed good health until the last few years, when she became ill. All was done for her that medical science and loving hands could do. She was a loving wife and mother and had many friends. She will be sadly
