OBITUARY

March 1945

FLORENCE A. TIBBS

Florence A. Tibbs, daughter of Jacob and Malinda Miner, was born June 11, 1868 near Johnsonville, where she spent her entire life. She had been in poor health for about ten years. Loving hands did all they could for her, but unable to restore her back to health. She passed away March 20, 1945; age 76 years, 9 months and 9 days.

She was united in marriage with Charlie Tibbs February 21, 1889. To this union seven children were born. Two daughters, Zella E., 20 months old and Mrs. Ben Ellis, five grandchildren, and one great grandchild preceded her in death.

She professed her faith in Christ at the Methodist Church in Johnsonville but later united with the General Baptist Church at Glenwood, where she reamined a member until her passing.

She leaves to mourn her passing her faithful companion, four daughters, Mrs. E.M. Warren of Lincoln, Ill.; Mrs. Herbert Harrell of Johnsonville; Mrs. Herman Bergman of Idaho, and Mrs. Howard Porter of California; one son Everet Tibbs in the Iwo Islands in the U.S. war service; one daughter-in-law Mrs. Everet Tibbs at home; four grandchildren, two  brothers Calvin Milner of Kansas, and Lou Milner of Utah; four brothers and one sister preceded her in death. Many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church at Johnsonville by Rev. Mac Ashbrook March 25, 1945 at 2:00 p.m.
