DOROTHY (PALMER) TAYLOR

Dorothy Olive Palmer Taylor, daughter of J.G. and Martha Palmer was born at Brocton, Edgar county, Illinois, Dec. 11, 1890, and departed this life Jan. 5, 1933, at the age of 42 years and 25 days.

The family moved from Edgar county to Wayne county when “Dollie”, as she was familiarly called, was five years old. She lived in the Victory neighborhood the remainder of her life with the exception of one year when she resided in Arkansas,

She was converted in a revival at Victory when she was fourteen years of age, after which she united with the church at Victory and remained true to the faith to the end of a useful life in her home community.

She was united in marriage with Harvey Taylor Mar. 17, 1910.  To this union were born three children, Fannie Mildred and Jessie Catherine, who are at home, and an infant girl, born July 8, 1927.

She leaves to mourn their loss her companion, the two daughters, three brothers, John T. and Frank P., both of Fairfield, Ill., and Charles F. of Toledo, Ohio; four sisters, Mrs. Cora Green of Fairfield, Ill., Mrs. Ruth Malcomb, Mrs. Ola Hollingsworth and Mrs. Golden Cooksey, all of Gillette, Arkansas, the aged mother, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Victory church at 10 o’clock Saturday morning conducted by Rev. Austin Donahoe assisted by Rev. J. F. Samford.

The large crowd which attended the funeral and the beautiful floral offerings were evidences of the high esteem in which she was held.
