MRS. LELA KERN DIES

Mrs. Lela Pearl Kern, 77,  died at  11:30 p.m. Friday at Memorial Hospital.

She entered Memorial Hospital January 19th, her birthday, ... (health)

Funeral services were conducted from Nale's Funeral Home Monday afternoon (today) with Bro. Robert Reeves officiating.   Interment was in the cemetery at Cisne.

Lela Pearl, daughter of Richard A. and Luella Brock Mullinax, was born near Cisne January 19th, 1889.

On February 8th 1920, she was married to Conrad W. Kern, who was killed in a highway accident January 28th, 1938 west of Fairfield.

REARED STEP-CHILDREN

No children were born to their union but she reared her husband's two children as her own.  One, Carroll died in Bellingham, Wash. in 1963.

She had resided in Fairfield 27 years and was an active member of the Fairfield First Christian church as long as her health permitted.

THE SURVIVORS

Surviving are a step-daughter, Helen, wife of Walter Barnett,
one brother Guy O. Mullinax,
one sister, Mrs. Alva Faith,
five step-grandchildren: several nieces and nephews; and by three sisters-in-law,
Mrs. Charles Mullinax,  Mrs. Ross Mullinax,  and Mrs. Lee Mullinax..
