FUNERAL FOR "SUS" LASATER

Funeral services for Wilson "Sus" Lasater were conducted at the Nale Funeral Home here Monday afternoon by Kent M. Dale, pastor of the First Christian church.  The veterans organizations were in charge of military rites at Maple Hill cemetery.

Young Lasater passed away in a hospital in Huntington Beach, Calif., on Monday morning, July 14th.  Contrary to the original report reaching relatives here, he was slain by a taxi cab driver who is reportedly held for manslaughter.

According to the later report, the former Fairfield boy and the taxi driver became involved in an argument during which the driver struck Lasater causing him to fall to the ground striking his head.  He died in the hospital a few hours later of concussion of the brain.

Young Lasater, age 35, had been making his home in California since his discharge from the army.  He had been employed as a chef in a restaurant in Long Beach, but more recently had been selling used automobiles.
