Mrs Clifford Wood Dies

Inez F. Wood, 74, the wife of Clifford Wood, who is known in Fairfield for raising Dahlia flowers, died at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday at her home.

Services Friday

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Nales Funeral Home in Fairfield, with Rev. Bill Cummins officiating.  Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday (tonight).

Mrs. Wood was born Jan. 1, 1902, in Wayne County, the daughter of Sherman and Olive (Creighton) Funkhouser.  She was reared in Wayne County, but moved to Albion when she was 11 and attended schools there.

On July 18, 1931, she was married to Mr. Wood and the couple spent most of their married life living in Chicago.  Mr. Wood worked 41 years with the postal department in Chicago.

Moved Here in 1971

The couple moved to Fairfield in 1971.  She attended the First United Methodist Church and she was a member of the Eastern Star, the White Shrine and the Wayne County Homemakers extension.

Surviving are her husband, Clifford, and one sister, Effie Fair.
