Sam Berg
Longtime Resident Here
Dies

Longtime Fairfield resident Samuel Berg, 74, died at 1:50 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 1964, at Way-Fair Restorium.

Mr. Berg was a resident of the nursing home since last June.  He was being treated for Parkinson's Disease.

Services Held

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday (today) at Nale's Funeral Home, with Bro.  Carroll Kakac officiating.  Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Berg was born in Wayne County April 3, 1910, the son of Sam and Alice (Creighton) Berg.

He was married to the former Bernice Zimmer Savage in Fairfield, Feb. 12, 1955.

Mr. Berg was retired several years from employment with the City of Fairfield.  He was employed for several more years with Fairfield Memorial Hospital Housekeeping Dept. before ill health forced him to retire again.

Mr. Berg was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. He was a former member of the Eagles Lodge.

The Survivors

Surviving are his wife, Bernice Berg, of Fairfield; one step-daughter, Mrs. Earl (Freida) Smith, of Fairfield; two step-brothers, Frank and Sam Wilson, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; three stepsisters, Mrs. Thelma Simpson, of Indianapolis, Ind.;  Mrs. Nellie Simpson, of Pottersville, Mo.; and Mrs. Elvira Acord, of Worchester, Ohio; and one grandson.
