Fairfield, Ill., June 24---(UP)---Charles W. Creighton, 61, prominent southern Illinois attorney, died here late yesterday following a heart attack.

Creighton had served one term in the Illinois state House of Representatives and three terms as Wayne county state's attorney, and was a past president of the Wayne county barr [sic] association.

He is survived by his wife and three children--one of whom, a daughter, had served as his law partner.
