MRS. I. O. BOOK DIES

Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Book, wife of I. O. Book, of Barnhill, passed away at her home there about nine o'clock Friday morning following a long illness with a bronchial complication.

Funeral services were conducted at the New Hope church at two o'clock Sunday afternoon by Rev. R. O. Leach.  Burial was in the Union cemetery.

Following is [the] sketch of Mrs. Book's life which she had written.

Elizabeth Jane Goodwin, daughter of James and Julia Goodwin, was born December 21, 1871, and departed this life April 16, 1943, age 71 years, three months and 24 days.

She was married to Ira O. Book October 23, 1898, and to this union were born six children, James, of Denver, Colorado; Julia, of Fairfield; Robert, of Fairfield; and Marion, Mary and an infant who preceded her in death.  Also surviving are five grandchildren, Jimmie Book, of Denver, Colorado; Bobbie Book, of Texas; Kenneth, Phyllis and Harold Etheridge, of Fairfield.

Also surviving are her sisters, Mrs. Mollie Hooper, Fairfield; Mrs. Vicy Cable, Barnhill;  Mrs. Emma Harris, Tulsa, Okla.; and brothers, James Goodwin, Petersburg, Ind.; and Thomas Goodwin, Grayville.

She was converted at the age of 19 and united with the Cumberland Presbyterian church at Union, and some years later united with the General Baptist church at New Hope, of which she lived a member until death.

Mother was tired and weary,
Weary with toil and with pain,
Put by her glasses and rocker,
She will not need them again.
Into heaven's mansions she's entered,
Never to sigh or to weep after
Long years with life's struggles,
   Mother has fallen asleep.

Card of Thanks.

We desire to express our deepest appreciation for the many kind ex[ressions of sympathy extended during our recent bereavement.
