SUCCUMBS TO ILLNESS

Former Wayne County
Superintendent of Highways
Laid to Rest in Maple Hill

Frank E. Roberts, 70, well-known Fairfield resident, Superintendent of Highways in Wayne county for some twenty-seven years, passed away Wednesday, June 16th.  He retired from his duties with the county in April 1947, because of his health.

Funeral services were conducted from Nale's Funeral Home on Friday afternoon by Dr. C. L. Peterson.  Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Roberts, a life-long resident of Wayne county, was born in Mt. Erie on December 19th, 1877.  He lived in Massilon township for many years and later moved to Jasper township.  Last fall he with his wife moved to Fairfield.

Surviving are his widow, Sarah J. Roberts, and five children, Mary Roberts and Howard C. Roberts of Urbana,; Frank E. Roberts, Jr., of Milwaukee, Wis.; Esther Roberts-Osha of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Dr. Charles E. Roberts, of Davenport, Iowa.
