NOVELLA  (HENSON)  PRUIETT

Novella Pruiett, 72, of Alton, died at 8:26 p.m. Tuesday at Alton Memorial Hospital.  Mrs. Pruiett was struck by an automobile at the intersection of Brown and Worden streets.

She was a seamstress and dress designer and owner of Novella's Fashion Shoppe in Alton for a number of years.  Later, she was a seamstress at St. Joseph's Hospital.

Born in Simms, daughter of the late Loren and Rhoda Belle (Ray) Henson, she married Glenn Pruiett on Nov. 8, 1932, in Alton.

Surviving, are her husband; two daughters, Glenda Drury of Upland, Calif; and Bonnie Farquhar of Colunbia, Md; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three brothers, Lieuna Henson of St. Cloud, Fla, Clarence Henson of Indianapolis, Ind, and Homer Henson of Simms; a foster sister, Bernice Hooper of Wood River; and her stepmother, Dorothy Reed of Fairfield.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Smith Memorial Home in Alton. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Brown Street Baptist Church in Alton with Rev. Marvin W. DePenning officiating.

Burial will be in Valhalia Memorial park in Godfrey.

Memorials may be given to the church, of which she was a member.
