Morris L. "Morey" Turner

PEORIA -- Morris L. "Morey" Turner, 85, of Peoria, passed away at 2:36 AM on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at UnityPoint Health -- Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on February 5, 1932 in Wayne City, Illinois to William F. and Melba (Garrison) Turner. He married Delca Wiggins in Peoria, IL in 1961. She survives. He later married Denna Faye Turner. She preceded him in death on December 25, 1999. Also preceding him, in death, were his parents, one daughter Regina Walters; and one brother Jerry F. Turner.

Morris is survived by one son Scott L. (Rhonda) Turner of Bartonville; seven grandchildren Amanda S. Cotelleso (and Jason "Ace" Cassidy), Maranda P. Turner (and Joshua Lopeman) and Brianne L. Turner, Jacqui Butikofer, and Zachary, Tyler and Delaney Ivey; four great grandchildren Lilian S. Montgomery, Vanessa Butikofer, Dylan S. Darling and Avery Ivey; one brother Melvin R. (Patricia) Turner; and in-laws Bob Ivey and Tawna Walters.

He was a Plasterer with the Operative Plasterer and Cement Masons Local #18 in Peoria. He recently was acknowledged for his 65 year membership in the Union. He retired in 1996. He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church. He had been a member of the Moose Lodge in Peoria. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Pastor Michael R. Turner will officiate. A visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the services at the funeral home. Entombment will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 5, 2018 at the Parkview Cemetery Chapel of Peace.
