Sister Of Wayne City Woman Dies At Belleville; Rites Held

Mrs. Alice Frances Ford, 72, of Mt. Vernon, died at 7:15 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, 1995 at the Belleville Memorial Hospital emergency room.

She was employed at the Mt. Vernon Elks Lodge for many years. Mrs. Ford was a sister of Louise Johnson of Wayne City.

Funeral rites were held Thursday morning (today) from the Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, with J. Howard Craps officiating. The body is being cremated and burial by the family will be at a later date.

She was born at Dover Dec. 14, 1922, the daughter of Claude and Nora Dyche Holloway.

On Feb. 26, 1959, she was married to Seth (Sonny) Thomas Ford.

She was a member of Central Christian Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Preceding her in death were her parents and three brothers.

Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church.

Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Peggy Hynes, of Mt. Vernon; Jerri Ford, of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; and Rosalee Ann Ford, of Mt. Vernon; one grandson; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Louise Johnson, of Wayne City; Margaret Walters, of Mendota; Betty Smith, of Rochelle; and Sharon Evans, of Alma; and several nieces and nephews.
