Carl E. Lane, 70, Dies At Rt. 1 Dix Home; Set Rites

Carl E. Lane, 70, of Rt. 1, Dix died at 5 a.m. Thursday (today), Dec. 7, 1995, at his home.

A retired plumber and pipefitter, Mr. Lane had been in declining health.

He was a Wayne County native.

Funeral rites will be at 11 a.m. Saturday from the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, with Rev. Dale Brookman officiating.  Interment will be in Boyd Cemetery.  Visitation at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix is set for 6 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Mr. Lane was born in Wayne County Nov. 1, 1925, the son of Guy D. and Clara Harris Lane.

On May 28, 1970, in Mt. Vernon, he was married to Carolyn Tinsley.

Mr. Lane was a World II veteran, serving in U.S. Navy Submarine Service. He belonged to the U.S. Sub Veterans.

Mr. Lane was a member of the Masonic order.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Jeffrey Isaac, of Dix; a daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Carla) Hankins, of Kansas City; and nine grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, a son, daughter and granddaughter.
