Frank Mitchell

Frank Mitchell, 82, of Percy and formerly of Wayne City, passed away at 9 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, at his home.

He was born in Wayne County on May 19, 1926, a son of Vern and Hettie (Barringer) Mitchell. He married Barbara Means, and she preceded him in death on May 13, 2003. He was a retired trucker.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Archie L. Sanders Memorial Chapel in Wayne City with the Rev. Jack Harper officiating. Burial will follow at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City.

Frank is survived by his son, Rick and wife Gerry Mitchell of Mt. Vernon; daughter, Virginia and husband Mike Hicks of Percy; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eva Hawkins of Mt. Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter, one grandson and one great-grandchild.

Frank was of the Protestant faith and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Wayne Masonic
