Bernadine F. DeVore

Bernadine F. DeVore, 84, of Mt. Vernon and formerly of Wayne City, passed away at 11:13 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

She was born in Wayne County on Jan. 20, 1924, a daughter of Ernest and Claudine (Weaver) Legg. She was married to Charles Harrison and then to Charles DeVore, and both preceded her in death. She was a retired teacher.

Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Home in
Wayne City with the Rev. Jamie Allen officiating. The body will be cremated.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Bernadine is survived by a son, Charles of Sapulpa, Okla.; daughter, Janice and husband Ted Garvin of Sapulpa, Okla.; one grandson and one great-grandson; and two brothers, Lowell Legg of Wayne City and Loren and wife Iolene Legg of St. James, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.

Bernadine was a member of the Open Air Christian Church in DeLand, Fla.
