Retired Xenia Teacher Dies At Her Home  In Flora

Mrs. Hazel F. Campbell, 94, of Flora, died at 7:20 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 1996, at her home.

Mrs. Campbell, a Wayne County native, retired after 28 years as a Xenia first grade teacher.
 
Funeral rites were conducted Monday afternoon (today) from the Flora RLDS Church, with Evagelist Floyd Henson and High Priest Bill Knapp officiating. Interment was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery at Xenia. A visitation was held Sunday evening at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home.

She was born Dec. 20, 1901, in Wayne County, the daughter of Seymour and Emmaline Burkett.

On Aug. 5, 1923, in Clay County, she was married to Ralph E. Campbell.

He passed away July 22, 1976. Also preceding her in death were he parents, one brother and one sister.

She was a member of the Flora Branch of the RLDS Church, a member of the Clay County Retired Teachers Association, the Royal Neighbors of America and a past member of Xenia Eastern Star.

Memorials may be made to the Brush Creek Campgrounds.

Surviving are a son, George Campbell, of Ogden, Utah; a daughter, Mrs. Don (Mary) Bunnell, of Flora; four randchildren;three great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
