Clay City Resident Losses Son In Xenia Shootout

The second victim in that oil field shoot-out in the Xenia area over the weekend was Kelly R. Harrison, 29, of Flora.

He is the son of Clarence Harrison, of Clay City.

Mr. Harrison was employed at MinWax in Flora.

He died at 11:05 p.m. Friday, June 21, 1996, at the Clay County Hospital in Flora.

Funeral rites will be at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery in That city.  Visitation at Frank & Bright will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Mr. Harrison was born in Richland County Jan. 5, 1967. the son of Clarence R. and Frances K. (Kay) Hough Harrison.

He was a Flora High School graduate.

Preceding him in death were his paternal grandmother and two maternal grandfathers.

Surviving are his father, Clarence Harrison, of Clay City; his mother and step-father, Kay and Ken Benson, of Garden City, Kans.; a daughter, Ashten Harrison, of Flora; a maternal grandmother, Margaret Perrine, of Flora; a paternal grandfather, Oran (Bub) Harrison, of Clay City; a sister, Gina Ross, of Flora; two nephews and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
