Rev. Thomas E. Koker Dies; Was Minister,  Airtex Retiree  [Pix]

Rev. Thomas E. Koker, 86, of Fairfield, died at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, June 2, 1996, at Washington County Hospital in Nashville, Ill.

He has been at a nursing home in Mt. Vernon and later moved to one in Nashville.

Rev. Koker, a minister of the Congregational Christian Church, was also an Airtex employee, working there around 30 years.

Rev. Koker has pastored the Union Congregational Christian Church at Albion; the Shiloh Methodist Church at Mt. Erie; the Rochester Congregational Christian Church at Keenesburg; the Wynoose Congregational Christian Church and the Ebenezer Methodist Church near Fairfield.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Calvary  Congregational Christian Church east of Fairfield, with Rev. Marvin McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Bailey Cemetery north of Wayne City.  Visitation at the Johnson Funeral Home will be from 6 to 8 Wednesday evening.

He was born in Orchard Township Dec. 30, 1909, the son of Charles H. and Bertha Robbins Koker.

On June 1, 1930, he was married to LaNora Warren. She passed away Apr. 4, 1990.

Rev. Koker was a member of the Calvary Congregational Christian Church.

Surviving are three sons, Charles of Wayne City; and Warren and Vern, both of Topeka, Kans.; one daughter, Loraine Donoho, of Mt. Vernon; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild
