Rufus Roy Haynes, 74, of Keenes died at 1:45 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2008, at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

He was born May 16, 1933, a son to Benjamin Harrison and Ida Marie (Catron) Haynes.

He was a retired farmer. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

In honor of his wishes, there will be no public service.

Mr. Haynes is survived by his brother, Ben Haynes and wife Joan of Bradenton, Fla., and several nieces and nephews.

His parents, brother Leslie Haynes and two sisters, Cecil Kissner and Beatrice Pearl McGee, preceded him in death.
