Mrs. Ethel Felix, 78, Dies At Barnhill Home

Mrs. Ethel Felix, 78, a long-time Barnhill area resident, died unexpectedly at 7 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 1984, at her home from an apparent heart attack.

Mrs Felix was in relatively good health, although she was under a physician's care, said the family. She was the mother of Dale and Russell Felix, both of Barnhill.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday (today) at Johnson Funeral Home with minister Ray Downard officiating. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery

Mrs. Felix was born in Wayne County May 15, 1906, the daughter of Ellis and Mattie (Wiley) Medler.

She married George F. Felix, who died Aug. 17, 1982.  The Felix family engaged in farming all their married life in the Barnhill area.

Mrs.  Felix was a member of New Hope General Baptist Church. She was a charter member of Barnhill Unit Homemakers Extension.

She is survived by three sons, Dale and Russell Felix, both of Barnhill; and Harold Felix, of Kentland, Ind.; five daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Catherine) Dickey, of Flora; Mrs. William (Dorothy) Merrill, of Mesa, Ariz; Mrs Marjorie Harding, of Addison; Mrs. Earl (Doris) Gregory, of Clinton, Iowa; and Mrs. James (Betty) Vanek, of Frederick, Wisc.; one brother, Henry Medler, of St. Ann; two sisters, Mrs. Cecil McRill and Mrs. Leona Etheridge both of Fairfield, and 24 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, one sister, a brother and one grandchild.
