Mrs. Betty Lou Manahan Dies At Home; Had Heart Problem

Mrs. Betty Lou Manahan, 55, of 1213 N.W. Seventh, was found dead at her home at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Apr. 22, 1995.

Mrs. Manahan had a heart condition, having suffered a heart attack some time ago.

A son, Randy Buchanan, went to the home in the Fairfield Garden Apartments Saturday noon to check on his mother. He could not raise her and called police, who had to break into the apartment to gain entry. Mrs. Manahan was found on a living room divan, fully dressed, the TV still on, Coroner Bob Johnson reported.

Mrs. Manahan had not worked following her heart attack. She was employed at Carter's Cleaners a number of years.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m.  Wednesday at Koontz Cemetery here, with Pastor Doyle Holbard officiating. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Johnson Funeral Home.

She was born at Barnhill June 27, 1939, the daughter of B. F. and Mary Ellen Koontz Medler.

Surviving are two sons, Randy Buchanan, of Ellery, and Ricky Buchanan, of Fairfield; one brother Bobby Medler, of Fairfield; two sisters, Anna Noles, of Barnhill and Dorothy McDowell, of Eldorado, and four grandchildren.
