Ira Hudson, Of Albion, Dies

Ira A. Hudson, 79, of Albion, a former Fairfield Memorial Hospital employee, the brother of Bennie Hudson, of Goldengate, died at 6:15 p.m. Friday Sept. 30, 1983, at Wabash General Hospital in Mt. Carmel.

Mr. Hudson had been a resident of the Meadowood Nursing Home in Grayville prior to entering the hospital.

Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday (today ) at the Nale's Funeral Home in Albion with Rev. James Steinsultz and Rev. Roy Hudson officiating. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery.

Mr. Hudson was born in Wayne county July 10, 1904, the son of Jesse and Sarah (Ball) Hudson.

He first married Lena Fortner, who preceded him in death in 1941.

Mr. Hudson later married the former Blanche Haeffle. She preceded him in death in 1968.

He was employed as a carpenter for many years. He later was employed by Fairfield Memorial Hospital where he retired in 1968.

Mr. Hudson was a 32nd-degree Mason Scottish Rites, a member of the Hermitage Lodge, of Albion, and the Ainad Temple. He belonged to the Moose Lodge at Albion.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Nicholas (Arlene) Capozzi, of Godfrey; and Mrs. Ron (Awanda) Deischer, of Morris; one son, Olin Hudson, of Waynesburg, Ohio; two brothers Bennie Hudson, of Goldengate, and Rev. Roy Hudson, of Broughton; four sisters, Mrs. Mabel Shilling, of Browns; Mrs. Analee Fisher and Mrs. Ruth Zurbuch, both of Akron, Ohio; and Mrs. Wilma Chalcraft, of Evansville, Ind.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, three brothers and his parents.
