A retired timber, Worker, Edgar "Ted" Moyer, 83, of Sims, died at 2:35 a.m. Saturday Sept. 14, 1985, at Clay County Hospital, Flora, following a stroke.

Mr. Moyer suffered a light stroke prior to entering the hospital Aug.  19th, where he experienced a second stroke, the Press was told. He was the uncle of Charles Moyer, of Fairfield, and Raymond Moyer, of Sims.

Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Richardson Funeral Home, Wayne City, with Rev. Gerald Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Thomason Cemetery there.

Visitation for family and friends will be conducted after 6 p.m. Monday(tonight) at the funeral home.

Mr. Moyer was born near Keenes, Wayne County, July 5, 1902, the son of Sam and Laura Payne Moyer. Mr. Moyer was a bachelor.

He was previously employed for many years cutting timber for Omer Desch.

Mr. Moyer followed the inter-dominational faith.

Survivors include one brother and a sister, both of Mt. Vernon, Roy Moyer and Mrs. Lula Mae Johnson; and several nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.
