Mrs. Vonda Sheraden, 72, Dies; Bt. Prairie Enterment

A former Burnt Prairie resident, Mrs. Vonda Sheraden, 72, of rural Mt. Carmel died at 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, 1985, at her home following a bout with cancer.

Mrs. Sheraden was the mother of Mrs. Imogene Puckett, of Fairfield.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday (today) at Nale's Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Gelsinger officiating. Interment was in Burnt Prairie Cemetery.

A native of White county, Mrs. Sheraden was born July 22, 1913, the daughter of Ben and Sadie Barbre Graddy.

She was first married to George Perry May 29, 1929 in Indiana. He preceded her in death Mar. 28, 1947. Mrs. Sheraden later married Shelly Sheraden May 9, 1956.  The couple lived near Mt. Carmel for many years.

Mrs. Sheraden was a housewife and member of Burnt Prairie Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She belonged to the Eastern Star at Burnt Prairie.

Survivors include her husband, Shelly Sheraden, of Mt. Carmel; one son, George Perry, of Albion; two daughters, Mrs. Imogene Puckett, of Fairfield; and Mrs. Jack (Pat) Monroe, of San Jose, Calif.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Shirley) Simpson, of Boody; five sisters, Mrs. Pete (Velma) Peterson, Mrs. Morrall (Valdree) Earhart, Mrs. Roy (Veloris) Rayburn and Mrs. Charles (Vivian) Melton, all of Middletown, Ind.; and Mrs. Viola Garrity, of Sardinia, Ind.; two brothers, Cecil Graddy of Middletown, Ind.; and Carl Graddy, of Lawrence, Mich., 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were an infant daughter, two sisters and a brother.
