A Correction
Due to an error, the time of death for Mrs. Sara LeMond was incorrectly noted in Monday's Press. Mrs. LeMond died at 6:55 a.m. Sunday and is also survived by seven grandchildren.

Mrs. Sara P. LeMond, 85, Dies At Hospital Here

A longtime restaurant owner and operator, Mrs. Sara P. LeMond, 85, of Fairfield, died at 8:55 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, 1985, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. LeMond's health has been good and her illness and death were unexpected, the family told the Press. She was a grandmother of Randy and Dean LeMond, and sister of Mrs. Helen Files, all of Fairfield.

Mrs. LeMond and her late husband Herbert "Doc" LeMond owned and operated a restaurant on West Main Street called LeMond Cafe (Doc's Place) from the mid 1920s until his death in 1936. Mrs. LeMond continued operation of the business until retiring in 1976.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at N@le's Funeral Home, with Rev. Don Tabor officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Born in Grover township, Wayne County, Mar. 17, 1900, Mrs. LeMond was the daughter of Marshall S. and Agnes Crews Trousdale. She and her family moved to the San Diego, Calif. area for a short time. The family farmed for many years in the Merriam area.

Mrs. LeMond was married to Herbert LeMond in 1924.

She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Helen Files, of Fairfield; two brothers, Charles Trousdale, of Vacaville, Calif.; Eugene Trousdale, of Albequerque, N. Mex.; and three grandchildren.

Preceding her in death was her husband, and two children, Herbert and Patti.
