Bertha Racene Milam, 28, Dies At Oblong

A former Fairfield resident, Mrs. Bertha Racene Milam, 28, of Oblong, the sister of James Hodges. of Fairfield, died Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 1, 1985, at her home.

Mrs. Milam was being treated by physicians for heart and other medical conditions, the Press was told. She was the step-daughter of Mrs. Nancy Hodges, of Fairfield.

Funeral services are planned for 10 a.m. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Harris officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Chapel Cemetery near Fairfield.

Visitation for family and friends will be held after 6 p.m. Friday.

A Fairfield native, Mrs. Milam was born June 29, 1957, the daughter of the late Ray and Willetta Heidinger Hodges. She graduated from Robinson High School, Robinson in 1976.

Mrs, Milam was married to Elmer "Jack" Milam at Oblong several years ago. She was a housewife and homemaker during her marriage, and a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Milam, and five children, Misty Milam, Joshua and Jeremiah Hanson, Jonathon and Jacob Milam, all at home; one sister, Mrs. Jim (Lexene) Miller, of Oblong; two brothers, Billy Max Hodges, of Oblong; and James Hodges, of Fairfield; her step-mother, Mrs. Nancy Hodges, of Fairfield; and two step brothers, Charles and Mark Noble, both of Fairfield.

She was preceded in death by an infant son and her parents.
