Retired Clay City Sawmill Owner Lubert Schnautz Dies

Lubert Schnautz, 80, of Clay City, died at 9:35 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 1994, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.   Mr. Schnautz was retired from operation of the Schnautz sawmill in Clay City.

Funeral services were conducted Monday morning (today) from the Summers- Kistler Funeral Home in Clay City, with Dr. Delma Lowery and Rev. Brad Harris officiating.  Interment was in Smith Cemetery, rural Clay City, A visitation was held at Summers-Kistler chapel Sunday evening.

He was born in Clay County May 26, 1914, the son of Cleveland and Ina McKinney Schnautz.   On May 5, 1940, in Flora, he was married to Erba Fields.

Memorials may be made to the Clay City Baptist Church.

His parents and one great-grandson preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife; four sons, Ray Dean Schnautz, of Pasadena, Tex.; Paul Dennis Schnautz, of Pasadena, Tex.; Larry Lee Schnautz, of Effingham; and Mark Steven Schnautz, of Olney; one daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Sue) Michels, of Olney; one brother, James Larry Schnautz, of Clay City; two sisters, Emmadine#Lichner, of Rogue River, Ore.; and Myonalea Winget, of Knoxville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
