John Scott, 93, retired Centralia barber and a Wayne County native. died Sunday at Centralia.  He was a cousin of Clifford Donoho of Fairfield.

Funeral rites and burial were in Centralia Tuesday. The Donohos attended the funeral.

Mr. Scott was a barber in Fairfield in the 1920's, before moving to Centralia. In addition to being a longtime barber there, Mr. Scott was also involved in oil leasing activities when the Southern Illinois oil boom hit in this area.

His wife is deceased.

Survivors include a son, who lives in Chicago; and a brother, Jim Scott of Mt. Vernon. who will be 100 years old in March.

Mr. Scott was a World War I veteran.
