Mary Brown, 85, Fairfield, died at 1:40 a.m. Monday Dec. 26, 1988, at the Flora Care Center in Flora, Ill.  She had been in ill health for some time.

Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery, the Rev. Ace Leon Draper officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Johnson's.

Mrs. Brown was born in Wayne County on Oct. 29, 1903, the daughter of William and Minnie (Campfield) Hudson.  On April 7, 1923 she married Kelly Brown. Mr. Brown, a former employee for the City of Fairfield, preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 1978.

Mrs. Brown was a homemaker and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.  She attended the Ellen Moore Church in Fairfield.

Survivors include two sons, Charles of Fairfield and John of Belleville, Ill., a daughter, Mrs. Raymond(Mildred) Berg of Fairfield; one brother, William Hudson of Florida; one sister, Esther Hamilton of Fairfield; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother, James Mason Hudson.
