Mrs Goldie Z. Wood, 90, a Keenes homemaker, died of the infirmities of age at 11:18 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, 1986, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Wood was the mother of Blythe Wood, of Wayne City. She had been in active health until 1 1/2 years ago.  Mrs Wood entered the hospital on Wednesday.  She most recently resided at the Nature Trail Nursing Home in Mt. Vernon since 1985.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday (today) at Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City with Rev. Bob Griswold officiating.  Burial followed in Thomason Cemetery there.

Mrs Wood was born at Keenes in Wayne County Sept 21, 1895, the daughter of Elias and Nancy Hawkins Fleming.

She married Ross O. Wood in 1911, in St. Louis, Mo.  Mr Wood farmed in the Keenes area and died in 1948.

Mrs Wood was a member of the Keenes Christian Church for over 50 years. She formerly belonged to the Wayne County Home Extension.

Survivors include two sons, Blythe Wood, of Wayne City; and Fay Wood, of Enid, Okla; one daughter, Mrs Fern Bullard, of Joliet; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband and one brother.
