Sister Of Fairfield Resident Dies At Her Albion Home

Mrs. Connie L. Carter, 52, of Albion, died at 7:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 1996, at her home.  She had been in failing health

Mrs. Carter, a sister of Bud Vaught of Fairfield and a half-sister of Ted Mayhue, of Mill Shoals, was employed at Champion Lab in Edwards County for 21 years.

Funeral rites were conducted Monday morning (today) from N@le's Funeral Home in Albion, with Bro. Larry Music officiating. Interment was in the Little Wabash Cemetery in Edwards County. A visitation was held Sunday evening at the Nale's Chapel.

She was born at Eldorado Aug. 23, 1943 the daughter of Cletis and Hazel Williams Vaught.  She was married to Vernon Carter, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are one son, Marvin Carter, of Albion; one daughter, Rhonda Collins, of Albion; one brother, Bud Vaught of Fairfield; two sisters, Zella Hosick, of Carrolton, Tex.; and Della Ann Vaught, of Carmi; a half-sister, Martina Butler, of Albion; a half-brother, Ted Mayhue, of Mill Shoals; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
