Former X-Ray Technician Here Dies In Tennessee

Gilbert F. Summers, 84, died Saturday. Aug. 3, 1996, at the Lawrenceburg Manor Nursing Home in Lawrenceburg, Tenn.

He was a retired x-ray technician and worked at Fairfield Memorial Hospital a number of years. He also worked at hospitals in Gainesville, Fla., and Lawrenceburg, Tenn., retiring from Crockett General Hospital in that city in 1974 .  He had worked for a number of years earlier at Prairie Farms Creamery m Olney.

Mr. Summers donated his body for medical research at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.

Memorial services will be conducted later in both Olney, Ill. and
Lawrenceburg, Tenn.

He was born at Trenton, Ill., Apr. 26, 1912, the son of Aloysious and Mary Beatrice Bullock Summers.  His mother died when he was young and his father and step-mother, Helen, reared Mr. Summers to maturity.  On May 2, 1941- he was married to Mary C. Williamson, of Calhoun,

Mr. Summers was of the Catholic faith and a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Lawrenceburg.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Richard Summers and Patrick Summers, both of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; two daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Sharon) Andrus, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and Mrs. Don (Judy) Wood, of DeSoto; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; six brothers, Dr. Tom Summers and Robert Summers, of Olney; Paul Summers, Gene Summers and Dale Summers, all of Florida; and Dr. John Summers, of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. Bill (Mitzi) Von Almon, of Louisiana; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, step-mother, two brothers, one sister and two infant sisters.
